This is getting bizarre, --1.0C, heavy snow, the main Sheffield road is covered, wheelie bins close to imploding under the weight and the METO still have it heavy until tomorrow aft.

The temperature continues to fall, but the snow isn't making any attempt at sticking. wallbash.gif

I can't chill - I want snow and I want it now. All this snow falling but not sticking is a massive waste of time. If it isn't sticking now, there is no reason why it should stick later on. rolleyes.gif

This is the most snow we have had all season. Finally, it gives us what I would call 'proper snow'! I'm not bothered if it lasts all weekend - after tomorrow, it can melt away as far as I'm concerned. I feel like we've had winter now!

~7cm on the ground here in Broomhill/Crooks, with quite a bit more to come according to the radar. The buses are also off!

Most roads generally still ok > http://sccplugins.sh...effcctv1map.htm

Sure about that depth certainly nothing like that amount when I left Uni at four or is it higher up from Uni?

Check the radar out, looks like it should pick up quite a bit soon!

Gone back to V4 of the radar and that showed light stuff. In theory heavy stuff should be knocking on the door once more. Front needs it's weetabix.

I'm higher up by about 80m so there is always a little more here, plus it has been snowing heavier in the last few hours! I only managed to do near the door so it could have drifted a little. Will go out after tea and take a few measurements nearer the road. Deffiently a solid covering, hoping to get to the botanical gardens or western park tomorrow

I wonder if Steve Murr is enjoying the heavy rain down his neck of the woods, it could be worse though, he could be snowed in

with blizzards like we are. acute.gif

Looking better again outside now. Radar not really brilliant though would prefer too see a lot more dark blues and greens.

Still crap here, I'll see what it's like in a few hours because I'm getting bored now, and if nothing has settled then, I'll just presume that this entire thing is a non-event.

I'm in York and absolutely bog all is happening. Not even a flake in the wind.

You'd be better off being back home for this event ! Not often we can say that.
