Been out with dog again and measured 7 inches of snow here in barnsley!! doing really well and still more to come! hoping the snow will intensify soon.

I make that about 5 inches more than us on eastern side of Rotherham. wallbash.gif

Where about in north Leeds? I'm up Bramhope way and it's doing well. When we went to drop some things of in Horsforth earlier at 120M ASL it was doing well too.

You're not 'in charge' of the weather station in Bramhope are you that's on Wunderground? Here in Bramley its still snowing but is allergic to covering the roads. Not sure why that is, any guesses anyone?

theres 14cms on the grass outside. im sure theres been some drifting on that but big drifts against the fence. Radar looks great. Sheff's location against the upslopes must be helping.

However big contrast in the east of the city where on lower ground there was a wet dusting at 5pm whilst at home their was a good 7-8 cms. Much more now. What a great winter, my mum says its like it used to be in the 70s when i was born!

Doesn't take long for snow drifts to start forming against my windows. If it continues at a similar pace all night, I wonder what I will wake up to tomorrow?

Theres a good foot of snow on the wheelie bin, i dont think 2010's 48cm of lying snow is under threat but that was the total result of 2 nights snowfall, although if

it continues like this it could be very interesting in the morning.

--1.0C, the ploughs and gritters have failed to keep the main road clear but theres still a few cars crawling along.

Na it's not 7 inch in Barnsley, not where i've been anyway. More like 3 to 4.

What is going to trigger this intensification?

theres so much PPN down to the south west, id say most of it in fact! we still seem to be on the north eastern boundary of it all.

Is all that expected to come NE or is it due to stall and pull south before then?
