Got nothing in rye atm,pretty much story of the winter.

Intensification is actually starting quite early on it's eastern flank, looks like Essex and later Herts will see a good pounding (giggidy).

Was getting good pounding here this morning at 06:30 but since then its gone all slushy, need the greens on the radar for it to stick.

There must be a reason the MetOffice think some places will see 10cm. As SK has said, when the two fronts meet each other, both the cool air and the warm air will create a rapid intensification during mid to late afternoon. Favoured locations for this seem to me to be Essex bearing the brunt with places like Hertfordshire and possible Bedfordshire seeing a lot of snowfall. Time will tell.

Indeed there must...But with only about 7 flakes-per-minute (FPM?) falling now, I sincerely doubt it'll be anywhere near here...

After a couple of hours of light snizzle when the snow on pavements mostly melted it seems to be picking up a little here now.

About 3cms over grass and car etc. would be nice to pick up another few cms.

Right, its skinny rubbish, rapidly thawing here and we are nicely in the middle of two snow bands.

Got Southern road relays at MK tomorrow so hope thats the end of it. Its too late in the year to settle properly, so kindly bugger off now snow, you're a bit pointless in March..

so wet and slushy after having a good covering this morning. @PerfectStorm, I do respect and like your informative posts but looking at the radar unless there is a substantial shift west i cant see that lot in the eastury reaching us?

Still coming down here and everything is covered but the Meto radar is getting worse each time I look at it!

I can't see it lasting much more than an hour. Is it meant to drop south and/or intensify or is it game over once it stops?
