Not the hottest, but arguably the best day of the summer so far here. Warm (max was 24c) but with a pleasant westerly breeze at 15-20mph to freshen things up. Bright blue skies and sunshine for most of the day. More please!

Much fresher here during the past couple of days. Yesterday was a very pleasant summer's day but today was much cloudier in general other than some clear spells in the afternoon and evening. A similar story for the next couple of days before the warmth returns later this week - the highest of the temperatures possibly in the east.

Another fine sunset over the Firth above Hairy Celt one of now many this summer.Currently 14c with a moderate west wind. Countryside is losing its fresh green colour to yellows and browns as grasses and crops show signs of drought. Its great to cast off wellies for a couple of months!!!!

Warm 'n' humid here. +24 with cloud cover. Showers for later, the potency of which differs depending on who you read. BBC claiming risk of thunder; EGPD airport weather just saying light showers. There were showers here overnight.
