Yet no-one will believe just how bad it is. They think I'm making it up!

Well personally I don't think it's that bad and I live on the coast lol! Well, what can reasonably be expected given the location.

Grr looks like everything will be East of Birmingham tonight now. Same old same old. Looked promising for us too until this evening. Dont know why the cells are rapidly dying as soon as they form. Such a juicy atmosphere up there gone to waste over this way today.

Pretty depressing really to be honest, missed the earlier storms & then cells form all around me, push away to the NE and become electrified towards the northants / cambs border. Heard 3 distant runbles & seen numerous flashes of lightning now too Posted Image

Three rumbles audible from here, further east over London or beyond - one, with a distinct flash well before, was 20 or 30 mins ago...yet nothing visible on the lightning detector.

Possibly there is a lack of shear to be honest, these appear to be pulse storms, ie form and with no wind sheer to separate the up drafts from the down drafts collapse back on themselves due to lack of inflow.

Clouds totally cleared here. Moon is back out. From the few clouds drifting by the wind has changed  to an easterly, very interesting.

Any lightning?

Yes, one or two flashes that I witnessed. Very odd, the air around us is destablising very very quickly.  I suspect one or two hours before things go bang tonight. If they don't, I don't know what to say anymore.

Something is brewing and it isn't my tea.

Just been outside for a cig and noticed distant flashes of lightning. The storms to my SW are intensifying.

hey all. That's a potent cell in London - slap bang over the center -

I've just been for a swim in the lake near my old village - there was a storm approaching from the south, so didn't stay in there long - mist rising from the wet ground - moon lit - perfect!
