Lightning is very strange as its very strobe like, never seen anything like it.

Incidentally the LLC is now out across Birmingham, which could explain the slight delay in development. Will just have to see what the LLC does as it moves further north now, and if GFS was correct but an hour or two out of sync.

Sky's getting very dark to my South now, and thunder in the distance...

would think that's whats just come over me(de11). seemed to be heading pretty much due north

OMFG!!  That was incredible, I've never seen that in 15-17 years... literally 5-6 flashes of lightning in 2 seconds!!  And a rumble of Thunder, come on explode...  Still rumbling...

That's what we had here....multiple return strokes and continual flashing.Blue sky though emerging to my south :cray: coming to an end for me here I think. Very very turbulent on the back side of these storms, quite strong up draughts and a lot of shear!! Sadly though not going to be dark enough for me to get any lightning shots :cray:

Any chance there will be any Thunder&Lightning on the western side of this rain band or it just going to be rain?

I read earlier that any severe activity would be on the eastern flank of any major precip, but that's not set in stone as these things so often prove to go against all predictions!

Harry the best is about to have passed you with nothing behind it looking at the radar. Perhaps half an hour to an hour left for you...

I know...thanks for that bringer of doom! Quite a bit of thunder and lightning though which was cool and some still very dynamic clouds.

Infrequent lightning here in Croydon, though one flash was quite an impressive IC crawler whilst staring out the window eating dinner

very strange cloud directions here. small dark patchy low cloud is running nw - se then the mid level stuff is moving generally south to north.

The next door neighbour filling up the watering can made more of a 'noise' than this drizzle, blegh, I don't know what to think currently other than significant rainfall amounts were modelled for the NW by 9pm and it looks like a typical late autumn day out there.

t'other side o't Pennines are gona catch it!

Nice whilst it lasted but to be honest its moving out of here quickly I think its going to be a sporadic lightning and nothing more now.

Have very high based lightning, nothing like the last storms and no way as severe. Still though, ALOT of rain and fun to see the flashing when it does occur :)

I'm in Hinckley so very close to you. The rain was intense for a short while and the wind got up briefly but I'd certainly hope for a bit more electricity later on.
