Finally clear (well almost) and warming up fast. 25.8c so far with dewpoint of 17c. Feels very humid - loving it!

Will we get warmest day of year or will the usual cloud roll in at the crucial time...

28c now - so technically a hot day (4th this year) and only 0.5c to beat this years max. Can we pull 30c...  we might just do it.. just...

It looked like it would brighten up earlier, but the cloud is proving rather stubborn. As it stands we're still stuck at 24.2C though it did briefly reach 25.9C in the sunnier spell.

Seems to be the story of the summer here really, if it isnt an onshore breeze its cloud!

28.3c - seems to have hit a cap in temps but slowly rising.. even if we beat the year max that'd be good!

Office - 30.2c and very close feeling!

Home - 22.3c some 6c cooler than outside! Wish I could remotely open a window and let some warmth in...

Blimey is that Lydd Airport reporting 31C with a 21mph onshore breeze?

Apparently so, but looking at the map the SSE wind is just enough to warm the air over 3 and a half miles of desert-like Dungeness rather than a true onshore easterly.

That said, temp further upwind on the French coast at Le Touquet is 34°C

Getting more convinced my sensor is a distinctly cool spot as other stations around me are recording 30c+ at the moment.

Yet last week I kept exceeding other stations. Most bemused...

28.9c.

That does make sense, when looking at xcweather I didn't realise it had an over 3 mile land track from that direction, and added to that the air over channel seems to be getting quite warm too due to the short sea track from France with mid to high 20's at other coastal sites and Sandettie light vessil

25C at Dungeness its self apparently, quite warm for somewhere right on the coast with an onshore wind, and I guess also it might only be a shallow layer of cooler air close to the water with the short sea track that easily gets mixed out once it meets land?

Down here today (a few miles inland) it reached 25.1C earlier when the onshore breeze turned pretty light for a bit, now it's down to 22C though.
