This mornings bright start has darkened a bit now, looks like the main cloud band is down the middle of the country currently:

Morning fellow South-Easterners / East Anglians,

 

Still bone dry here. And it has been a bright morning so far. But that brightness is verging on sunniness now. What's going on?! Was expecting to be watching rain stream down the windows by now!

All the stuff of interest seems to be to the west at the moment. Watching those returns over Caen / Le Havre, though, as they seem to have Kent and East Sussex in their sights. (But how many times have we seen that over the summer, only for them to suddenly veer 90° to the right, or die a rapid death over the Channel?!)

 

Currently slap bang on 18°. Which is fine, but really is leading to quite an incredibly different feel out there compared to yesterday.

We seem to have a steady feed / supply atm. Or at least I seem to have a supply all the way back to the coast.

Still grey here, adding low cloud off a south westerly to the list of wind directions which give north sea cack.

First rain drops at 7.50 this morning letting the dog out led me to believe I didn't need to pack rain coat for school run until we walked out the door at 8.20 when it was pouring down. Rain had mostly cleared and 14 degrees on car temperature by the time we drove past the Heathrow snow base (still under construction) - please let it be put to good use this year Light drizzle in Uxbridge but some darker grey stuff on the horizon up towards the M40; husband says it's still raining heavily in Surbiton.  Had to open all the windows in my bit of the building this morning as it still seems full of yesterday's heat, won't be long until it's freezing in here again.

 

Edit: the rain is coming down much more heavily now.

Rain Today suggesting you could be being truthful! The Channel stuff still looking as if it has our names on it. The garden - which I purposely didn't water last night - is certainly praying for your generosity.

I must admit that when I got up this morning at just before six it was rather dark with all the cloud cover, we still waiting for the rain although it's much coller than yesterday.

 

I fell over the snow shovel last night which in turn fell on the salt and also bought down one of the childrens sledges to lie in an easterly direction, therfore using the CFM (Chris Forecasting Model) I think thik this is pointing to a colder than normal winter with plenty of easterly winds.

I probably should have hung the snow shovel up properly in the first place

Dry here now. Dreary and cloudy with 14c.. A shock to the system for many this morning. Had 4.5mm of rain overnight.
