Hope you enjoyed your birthday celebrations. Boy, was that an evil hangover I had yesterday!

Thanks yes I did, although carrying a distinct headache today.

Just got back from a 'refreshing' walk with the dog in the 95% cloud now, 15% of it very dark, but still comfortable temperatures. Off to Canbury Gardens Bandstand in Kingston this afternoon where my friend's band is playing - hope the rain holds off.

Edit: suddenly very gusty squally depth-of-autumn conditions outside.

Gazebo rattling around in the wind. Suddenly turned v gusty, blowing the leaves all over the place. Eased now, was a dramatic few mins!

Just did a quick check on the radar and it looks like what started as a small feature grew and intensified as it reached us; looks like another one behind it could do the same, time will tell. Would rather it stayed fine for my friend's performance in the park.

Aftrnoon all. It got down to 6.5c here earlier this morning and no sign of that sunshine you are all talking about. Very overcast and gloomy here with light rain falling.Posted Image

Hate to be pessimistic, but I'd take a brolly if I were you!

Turning into a text book 'sunshine and showers' day here. And I'm quite enjoying it - it's giving us some fairly photogenic skies. Current temp = 17.1°

With all the ambient noise here it's sometimes difficult to distinguish, but I am about 95% sure I just heard a low and distant rumble of thunder.

A bit brighter here now, but was full on! Looking like more rain heading in, hope it clears thru quickly for your friend performance..

Blitzortung certainly suggesting that's the case. (Mind you it - and SAT24 - both have recent strikes right on top of me. And I can assure you there has been nothing.)

Have put it away. And all windows now open wider than before!

If lightning detectors become much more sensitive they'll be flagging-up multiple C-G strikes, into the beer garden at Wetherspoons...Posted Image

Hi Coast - a question regarding the sloes if I may..I thought it was best to leave the sloe picking until after the first frost? Or is that rubbish?!

Sorry Lottie, I missed this one. Have a look in the lounge under 'Natures Harvest' for a bit of conversation on this, however I think you need a couple of weeks to let them ripen than pick them. Don't worry about the frost, you can always stick them in the freezer so the skins burst, then defrost them and use them or just prick the skins when fresh - personal choice really!

Skies look threatening here, had heavy downpours since midday here.

Edit- Hammering down again and skies look ominious ( thunder and lightning please? Posted Image )

End up somewhere dodgy again last night?

Quite agree the weekend has been rather good here too, no complaints from me that is for sure.

Actually yes...did have a drink in a very dodgy pub, it was Karaoke night as well which was funny really as we might as well have stayed in and watched the X factor Posted Image
