Nah....that's on Monday, Coast. Must've been an aeroplane. We are on a busy flight path and there are lots of RAF planes knocking about. Plus we are near the docks. Could've been anything.

It is very blustery and lots f dark clouds about. I don't think we've seen the last of rough weather. :-D

It seems to be breaking up a bit here and the weekend doesn't look too bad:

Cloudy but dry tomorrow, sunny Sunday and nothing wet on the horizon currently until next Saturday when another Atlantic low looks like it could move in around us:

Afternoon all

Weekend has finally arrived Posted Image  and for me it is a 3 dayer Posted Image busy weekend coming up so the extra day required,  still hope to squeeze in some time for artwork though.

Really strange, it is close to 20oC here but feels a lot cooler than that even out of the stiff breeze, then again it is rather cloudy though.

According to weatheronline Heathrow, Cambridge and Mildenhall are at 21C, not bad for October :)

Fantastic temps like you say for the time of year, and just as I said it felt cool because of the cloud they parted and the sun has come through now, hoping it will warm it up a bit before nightfall.

Warm temperatures in October are not unusual at all - and are to be welcomed so relatively early in the autumn season.  The coming weekend and next weeks weather therefore are to be welcomed very much I think. It also means that some of my summer flowers are still doing well amongst the autumn flowering varieties and make a pretty sight out in the courtyardPosted Image

Lovely day here and reached 21C in the sunshine, perfect allotment weather :) Hate to say it but some rain (actually, loads of it) wouldn't go amiss in this area!

Select 'lightning strikes' from the 'climate variable' drop-down. That what you mean?

Some of these clouds remind me of the begining of spring when you get those short but heavy bursts of snow.

Yes, like I've previously mentioned, 21C is achieved, in October, somewhere in GB in at least 2 out of 3 years and these days should be embraced imho, as they'll not likely return until April. Posted Image

We have a bank of cirrus / cirrostratus here, so could be a nice sunset soon too.

If the ECM or GFS verified we could again see temperatures into the low 20s, which frankly I will take over wet Atlantic westerlies or northerlies which can't even produce wintry precipitation yet :)

Hello all

Went to bed last night as steady rain fell in Reigate, and woke at 6am as slightly more gentle rain continued to fall.  As far as I can remember there was no thunder or lightning but when I got up and opened the doors to the garden it had the feel, the scent, through the darkness, that everything was saturated.  There was a heavy, close dampness to the air and when I turned on the garden light, just to have a look, it revealed plants and grass gleaming with jewel droplets of such perfection that I had to go out and run my fingers up the stems, collecting the water and then flicking it away, as though I was pushing the seeds from a single stem of hedgerow grass upwards into a perfect shape and letting them fall on the path.  I used to love doing that as a child, and still now relish the tiny moment of perfection and form, thinking I was planting, sowing.

Down in Brighton again, very mild, calm sea, hoping for some brightness tomorrow

Have a good weekend

There's excitement on the model thread, something interesting going on???

Nope just high pressure sat over the UK giving us a week of cloudy weather. Woo-hoo Posted Image

I don't mind if it gives us misty / foggy weather, clearing to sunshine - season of mists and mellow fruitfulness and all that; imho the best part of autumn - but persistent cloud is a total no-no to me. Posted Image

make of these what you will

the temp for the main runs are right at the top of the ensembles

either way a few quiet days with some sun

i think jerry being dropped may show everything on the charts west but only a guess at present

fax charts over the weekend should clear the difference up hopefully

Morning all,

Still very mild here but have no fear all you cold lovers out there Mr Madden has made his winter predictions....

Another "Big Freeze Horror Winter" 2013/14 + Huge Snow Amounts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDpvIwfjc8M&feature=em-uploademail

"as we progress throughout October and into November it is likely to become progressively cooler than of late especially across parts of the North, this will bring the additional risk of developing frosts and some wintry weather/snow especially in November"

Posted Image and as we progress throughout November into December it's likely to become progressively more Christmassy especially in retail outlets in all parts of the county, this will bring the additional risk of developing scroogeitus and some bah humbug feelings especially in December Posted Image
