Good morning folks, I hope you all had a good weekend. Cracking set of photo's from the weekend again Robin, and the views of Beachy Head and Belle Tout bring back some very happy memories. Posted Image  I can remember a time when I was able to walk the Seven Sisters from Eastbourne to Cuckmere Haven, but that was way back in 2004 when I last managed it.

Next time you are out that way have a look at The Boat House B & B at Birling Gap, I stayed there many a time and the couple who ran it ( not sure if they still do ) were lovely people. Geoff and Anne. They went to the extraordinary lengths of having the whole building moved back from the eroding cliff face, similar to Belle Tout but on a smaller scale:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sussex/8395970.stm

I digress. Some definate signs of Autumn here in the outer suburbs this morning with temperatures down to 7.3c at nearby Raf Northolt and fog quite prevalent. The sun is only now just beginning to break through the low cloud and mist that hung around for much the morning once the fog cleared, but it all adds to a nice seasonal feel.

Have a good week folks. Posted Image

Morning Martin!

I watched the actual move of Belle Tout and it was an engineering masterpiece. It featured heavily in the BBC ! drama Life and Loves of a She Devil:

Well i'll be damned, the sun has come out now (after I changed the days plans, typical) well I have to walk to the post box and will go via the park to the next village for some photos then.

Afternoon Robin. I say that clip was a bit raunchy for early afternoon viewing Posted Image .

I bet that was quite something to see Belle Tout being moved, it's a spectacular location especially when viewed from the road past Beachy Head coming from Eastbourne. Bright and breezy best describes it here this afternoon and a very pleasant 19c. All downhill later this week though it seems.

Afternoon all

Just been out over what I like to call 'lunch' for a walk around the fields of Harefield and it got quite warm once the sun came out.  Speed-picked a kilo of sloes, big juicy ones at that, from my secret source - which is still laden with the little devils, so I could be back!

Hope all are having a good day

I have been all over the other threads last few days, the snow and ice is massively different to last year (dare I say it is closer to 2010...)

Getting really excited now, can't wait till the month begins to die out and we get runs in for November/early December coming in.

Hello again all from an occasional (i.e. cold-weather only) poster, hope you're all in fine fettle - I held out until November last year but this year it seems all to be kicking off early... it's quite exciting, isn't it?!

On the Winter thread I've noticed a few people saying we can't have northern blocking (equating to cold) in late October/November and expect to get it later on in the winter as well - I know nothing, but this doesn't seem to make sense to me - it's not as if there's a quota which somehow gets used up, is there? Or is there in fact a knock-on effect of some sort? Forgive me asking in here but you're all much friendlier!

Btw Reefseeker, I will happily join your parent of foul-tempered teenager support group - I have two ten-year-old versions who are driving me crazy!

The model thread appears to be celebrating winning a pile of horse manure. Horrible charts again bringing cloudy, damp and cool conditions :(

So was the Greenland high in the summer of 2012 Posted Image

Wake me up when it's snowing

The thread is already blowing up, I feel I might take a break from posting in the model thread, it's kind of getting ridiculous and newbies are being misled by people saying that there will be sunny and frosty weather when frankly the pattern has grey and cool written all over it.
