The house that I am in at the moment was badly damaged in 87 it had the gable end blown in to the house, new brickwork is in metric..., it took over 100 mph to do that, it did 120 plus at the Needles that night.

At the moment its gusting around 50 but it has been around 70, just down the road from here its done 83 at the needles.

looks like 90 is on then, I think.

Hi Rusty, keep safe and I hope you don't get the 90 gusts, not hopeful you wont though. Posted Image

Talk now that parts of E Anglia, NE England may see upgrades re warnings etc..for later today, also bare the brunt of the winds..

This storm is now possibly taking on a new dimension.

I thought NE Eng was going to miss out?

Pressure here has just started to rise, back up to 982 from 981.2 and the winds veered to the west. So I'd say it has just passed North of Scilly.

you could be a very useful poster down there, since most of our weather comes from you - keep posting what you have actually experienced - much appreciated Posted Image

Can now hear the wind whistling down the chimney and outside so clearly gathering intensity, the sound of rain which has been persistent (and heavy) for maybe eight hours is starting to fade though.

No, between 1-4 am it will become 30 gust 50 kts, with a chance that between 3-6 am it will be 35 gust 55 kts. It will then abate from between 7-10 am to 16 gust 28 kts.BECMG 2801/2804 23030G50KT 9999 NSW PROB30 TEMPO 2803/2806 27035G55KT BECMG 2807/2810 27016G28KT Edited by Su Campu

Hi and thanks mate, it was quite bad at the time half the house was blown in and the roof was badly de-slated so the neighbors say and the brickwork tells, quite exciting really, but rather it stayed a sedate 90 than the 120 that nightPosted Image Take care.

Max gust tonight so far of 10mph...but the rain has been very heavy and persistent.

Strongest winds for here were forecast 3-6am but I must get some sleep. Goodnight all, stay safe. I'll be sleeping through the 'main event' for my area as it will be moving on by 0700hrs i'd imagine.

I will be thinking of you as this gets worse. Daughter is closer to the seafront than me and now has no electricity as water has penetrated the roof of flat above and is running into their electric supply and also the flat below. Not fun but i think they will be in a better position than the people above them.
