It seems that Tamara has once again hopefully calmed the atmosfear in the mad thread and talked sense, just hope people are listening to her wise words (quite possibly for a while at least-until the next model update-all those toys will be collected up and put back in to the cot)

well done Tamara for having a sensible and levelled outlook on the modelsPosted Image

Are we about to have a 'seismic' weather shift then? Posted Image

That must be three days non stop nigh time lamppost watchingPosted Image

It's a shame you can't dual post so we can see what Tamara has said without having to wade through the rubbish in that thread

No that's fine, I didn't mean you had to copy the links.  I am just being lazy and could find the post through Tamara profile if it wasn't snowing so heavy outside and i have to keep looking out of the windowPosted Image

Evening peeps

just over ten minutes to the new Winter Watch on BBC2 Posted Image The last few years the BEEB has gone into overdrive with nature/wildlife programs, and I am not complaining either (just buggers up some plans as I have too much to watch this week now).

Looks like the frost is forming on the cars outside, light is a bit poor so hard to tell for sure, temp sensor in the shed is at 1.1oC.

hi chris

your description last night was fine

problem is its hard to word it in an easy way

heres the link

http://weatherfaqs.org.uk/book/export/html/214

warning though its long and will take a while to digest

best thing to do is look for what you need to know rather than read all of it

hope that helps

john

Cheers John - I'd like to think that I'm getting to the stage where I can work-out the basic "gist" of most of the standard output chart types, but that page is full of information that's new to me.  I fear, though, that some of it might be a touch too advanced for Katie as yet.  I've sent her another PM going back through that NH chart from last night - it might well do the trick combined with what you've posted.  I only have to re-read my posts in the Learners section to realise that I was equally as confused as Katie then and more recently until I made the effort to understand the basics.

Sorry I didn't want to mention that too soon, I am really sitting in the MK Snow Dome drinking coffee and looking through the viewing glass windowPosted Image

On a weather related note it's fallen to 0.8c (air thermometer) outside so I would expect there to be ice forming on the car and the grass below.

once you understand this its not too hard

but trying to explain it

its like the offside rule it becomes difficult

the link is good for looking up info on various models when you need it

i agree though its not simple to learn all that and there is a lot there

if anyone gets stuck feel free to pm me

i will do my best to answer any question

regarding the weather of course Posted ImagePosted Image

Stunning photos from Steve C earlier, thanks for posting.

Driving back from a tough squash match (mind you, they are all tough for me) I saw what appeared to be a 'gritter' and it appeared to be 'gritting'. I presume I was hallucinating from the exertion?

For the frost I think, they gritted here too, and last night.

Hmmm this may be weather related, I just went to the bathroom and saw that in the hallway there were a lot of slugs.Slugs often come in, its nothing new.

But I've never seen these ones before. They were very very very thin and long and dark green.

The others are the fat slobbery ones.

Are they starving, do you think?Because the rain took whatever they eat?

Is there a classification for two frosts in a row this winter?

Is it a "gaggle", "collective" or "herd"?
