Frosty windscreens eh? Getting jealous now - all that was left when I went out at 7:30 was some thin nearly melted mush that went with the second pass of the wipers.

Cloudy today but NO WIND OR RAIN!

We don't appear to be out of the woods yet re that monster low  do we? GFS still not keen on development on Tuesday, but look at this now, it develops one the next day instead!  Charts and comments below courtesy of Mucka MOD:

Maybe I spoke too soon, GFS comes up with another nasty looking runner low just one day later instead. If that hits the Scot's will get their independence from the rest of United Kingdom, just not in the way they imagined.

that will probably be the same hail shower I got stuck out in about 3:15 at Shieldhill  but like you say overall was quite a decent day and at least it felt like we are in February instead of constantly feeling like we are stuck in a time warp in October/November all we need now is a few snow events no matter how brief and we can at least say we made it to winter eventually because I really cant be bothered having to wait till next winter to get something in my back yard.

Aye, today is the 99th of November...feels like it might be getting a little colder as we head into the 100th day?

certainly looking like we might get some fun from the west not thinking I will get too much here with those uppers though

like your GFS charts above the GFS 0.5 ppn HD charts show some snow around then a front edge transitional spell later

Nice charts Catch and BUS. Minimum last night was +1.1C. Then 8.6mm of rain from just before 01:00 until 04:00 so fairly heavy with the temperature climbing to +3.4C just before it started. Currently +4.9C and 100% cloud cover after early sunshine.

As they say in the world of darts....'180'!!   Jeez we better hope the ECM is overdoing this one for the 11th! Certainly looks like a "problem day"  with us in the firing line this time.Posted Image

Posted Image worrying really, as ECM has shown this feature a couple of times now and some other models are starting to touch on it too.

Wouldn't hang the washing out Misty Queen,  or the likes of HC and NL will be picking up your undies!!Posted Image

That is just MENTAL! I really hope that doesn't come off....Gawd knows where the underwear would end up! Posted Image  Today is damp and dreich ( normal! ) 5.2c pressure down to 949 and the warning is flashing on one of my weather stations. Mind you, we did have some of that big yellow thing in the sky, needless to say it didn't last. Been watching the Olympics just to try and remind myself what snow looks like!

Cool with showery rain here. Wind South. Another 15 to 30 cms on the hills this morning with more falling. A covering of wet snow first thing this morning at my mums in Highland Perthshire but mostly gone by the time we got there.

Mixed day here, was nice and clear at 6am, then pishing it doon by 9am. Showers again late afternoon, and a balmy 6C max.

Had a good read today, not sure what to make of it but would not surprise me.

http://therapybook.wordpress.com/2014/02/07/the-deliberate-flooding-of-the-somerset-levels/

Which led me to this.
