My other half has just emailed me a photo of heavy snow falling outside his office window. In sodding Telford. In sodding midlands Shropshire.I'm in Scotland! Scotland, famed internationally for its cold, snowy winters! Scotland, the land of snow and ice! And I'm being out-snowed by bloody TELFORD??????

Yeah if you really want scundered BMW turn on Ken Bruce on Radio 2 and listen to Sally Traffic with her road and snow reports!

A wee bit wet snow falling in outskirts of Dundee but only really landing as slush on windscreens. Sleety rain in town though and now virtually dry.

Snow lying again this morning at my mum's in Highland Perthshire.

Ended up with 2-3 cms. Looks like the snaw line was maybe 50 m down from me as in the leader valley floor it was more sleet and remained mainly green.

Melting slowly now at 1.2 C.

Better than a kick in the teeth.

Still looks pretty good to me, certainly more interesting than we've seen in a while. Going to be a mixed bag as to how far east it gets, will certainly struggle if you're sheltered by the Borders Hills or the Grampians but in between I'd imagine it should manage to clear right through to the east coast. You're looking for more organised activity to ensure it still has decent intensity by the time it reaches the likes of Fife and Dundee though, although west of here for the likes of West Lothian, Stirling and Falkirk it looks more likely to remain intense.

Temperature now 4.8C/3.2C (+1.5C/hour).

After the rain cleared there was a nice ray of sunshine but now thick and threatening cloud has rolled in again

I'd agree with that, the showers are at least an hour ahead of that graphic.

Here is an interesting viewpoint on climate change:

A light snow shower passed through not too long ago followed by wintry clear blue sky. This week looks like being the most interesting of the winter so far and hopefully at some stage we all end up with our fair share of the white stuff.

Was feeling warm in the sunshine when I was out just 40 minutes ago, now there's a covering of snow. Snow rather heavy.
