After having no storms on Thursday night, we hit the jackpot here last night.  Timings about five minutes before those posted by Charlton Adam, the first flash and instant crack had both of us sit up in bed wondering what was going on!  Pretty much lightning all the way for the next few hours.  I did manage to sleep a bit, but not a good deep sleep, so may need to make up for it later!

Well that was a fun night! Storms to the East, West and overhead around 00.00-02.00, 04.00-04.45 then 05.15-06.00!

And now more rapidly forming just to the West with sporadic downpours and regular loud thunder - rain stopping/starting suddenly as it has been through the night.

Had two thunderstorms last night, one just after midnight, largely stayed to the east. Then an overhead one at about 4.30am, rain was torrential, with some lightning and moderately loud thunder :)

Excellent night. Storms throughout the night with some overhead lightning and lots of thunder. Didn't get much sleep in the end as they just kept on piling in. Now currently torrential rain with thunder as an intense line of showers continues to develop.

I can see those storms over the Gillingham area on the radar and the dark grey skies in that direction too.  Looks af though you are in the firing line for a bit longer yet!

Epic here, that's all I can say. The rain is biblical- 14.2mm fell in 9 minutes, flooding absolutely everywhere.

Yes a stunning night with lightning flashes coming at between 3 and 5 second intervals at one point (that is between flashes not between flash and bang).

Still plenty of thunder rolling around but further away now (no lightning)

I have never seen rain like that, 16.2 mm in 11 mins, lighting and thunder still on going.

Amazing night and good start to the day
