Steady moderate rain, but can hear the thunder waaay off!

Oh, and 3000 posts just reached :D

EDIT: thunder is dying down, still can hear distant but not so frequent now.

Not so sure about that. Wednesday night/early hours of Thursday shows something moving up from France into the SE of England which could well be thundery.

Laughable forecast by Sky News.

According to their forecast, there are thunderstorms in the SW and they will push to other parts.

What thunderstorms? It's bone dry there! Hopeless!

It's amazing that line of showers moved over me about half hour ago when it was nothing more than cloud, then soon as it's 20 miles north of Aylesbury boom it suddenly intensifies and we have strikes from it lol. I have a feeling that Central Southern England might not fair too good today. For the last few years north of the Midlands have done very well in these type of situations.

Oh I have first hand experience with Sky News Weather, just ignore any forecast from them lol

My only hope at the moment is that nice chunk about to move over the channel hits land and goes boom pmsl, then moves over the Home Counties, I'm totally not holding my breath on that one lol.

Pulses of heavy rain here. Interesting to read that thunder is being heard in Northamptonshire. Worth keeping an ear out then.

Line of cells over the Midlands don't look that intense rain wise but it is producing sferics. This could be indicative of elevated storms I suppose. Anyhow, if it holds its strength then could be with me in the hour.

I have an exam this morning so I'm gonna be entirely selfish and hope it holds off for the 3 and a half hours.

Afternoon is fine though. Be just my luck to be off work for exams yet be stuck inside missing out!

I'm pretty disappointed if the truth be told, no thunder & lightning here, those imports were pantz in the end. The MO future radar turned out to be right! Never mind, you get used to it. lol

I thinks behind the old MCS will see interesting things today. The storm to my SE fizzled as it approached, so only distant thunder heard.

Same here, all looked so promising, but as it all edged further North and East it lost all it's potency, so by the time it got to me I managed to get a couple of flashes lightening an a couple of rumbles of thunder.

Skies darkening to my south and it feels very thundery outside, much more than yesterday. There may not be much left on this band but I can live in hope it may intensify.

There's nothing remotely interesting forecasted for here except cloud, I'd sooner have the sun and warmth back.

A lot of convecting accas around this morning, in the wake of that shower line.

After the very warm sunshine and thunderstorms of yesterday, a very different day...gloomy and wet.
