Another cool and very wet morning here with low cloud and fog over 350m. Temp currently 9.6c N/E 12mph.

On a side note im just starting to pack here as moving in the next few weeks, All stops the same as only moving 4 fields away but with much better views and a much more isolated location for my weather station. Lot's of work to do before then, but cant wait to get in to fire the Arger up, Been wanting one for years !  :D

gawd some folk and isolation, how many days do you reckon you will have no access to the outside world thanks to snowfall?

mind you I can see the appeal to some extent, hope all goes well.

as for lowland sunny donny=haha

still raining, gawd knows what the 'real' rainfall is for this area. My site is so sheltered but over 70mm now, the average for my garden is 34mm and for the  RAF Finningley 50 years of data it was 51mm. Must have a look and see what their wettest May was.

Gawd awful day.

I thought you were going to follow that with 'dry, warm and sunny', but no. A beautiful day here - very Novemberish again. My, I am being spolied.

Thanks John, Have plenty of time to move so that's taken the stress out of it, Im hoping the next time i flit will be to the local Crematorium...

I do enjoy the peace and isolation to come back to, Always have done, as it's all I know living round here most of my life, To be honest the effects of Snowfall will not change as the new house is only a few fields away, All the back roads get buried anyway here during heavy falls and only reliant on local farmers (myself) in clearing the lanes, As not council priority/owned, Last March me and the other half were stuck here for over a week due to massive 15+drifts.

But as im a Winter fan at heart it makes it all the more better!

a measly 4.8mm here but then my site is very sheltered with the rain often only 25% of what 2 other sites within 3-4 miles of me record. Still the wettest May by far in 10 years but way away from the RAF Finningley record of 159.3mm in 1983 with 55.9mm in one 24 h period on 18-19th. So with say 73mm and add 25% for a more general value for the area there are only 4 occasions in 72 years with higher values, so a wet month by any May standard?
