Not feeling as hot yet as the sun has not broken through, actually pleasant enough in the slighly cooling breeze to get some chores out of the way, took a short stroll round the block with a friend and the dog to take advantage of it.

Mid Suffolk - continuous distant thunder some miles to the east.

I've just experienced my heaviest rainfall ever driven in, near Weeley, Essex. That is more than 25 years of driving!

The colours showing on the radar, over east Suffolk now, mean there's seriously heavy rain there too. Flash flooding looks very likely.

I'm sure I keep hearing thunder here. Neighbours are doing DIY so not 100% sure.

There has been lightning around Ulcombe and Lenham so that could be what you're hearing.

Unbelievable storm gone through here in the past hour! Constant rumbling thunder like I've never heard before. Went for a drive in the 4x4 to get in the path of the worst of the storm. Huge amount of rain in a short period (nearly 2 inches in an hour in Framlingham). Roads are flooded everywhere, lots of cars caught out. Crazy!

Thunder in Basildon, but dry as a bone!!!

None in Ockendon as yet, but the sky is beginning to look a bit more promising.

Nowt here in the far west of our region, but the cloud and breeze has made it a far more bearable day and I would be far happier if we kept these conditions if it has to be hot and humid than not (if only to get a full nights sleep in the next week or so).

Storms really brewing, good timing to get back. Feels really oppressive out there.

Heaviest rain I've ever seen.

Got a video of it which I might upload later but the water was just rushing down the road.

Very grey skies and rumbles to my East, not coming this way though.
