Loving this summer, hasn't been particularly sunny though, reminds me of July in Florida, sunny in the morning but starts getting cloudy as the day goes on as convection sets in.I think I have seen more lightning this weekend then the whole of last year to be honest, the only problem is we were hit directly only once, Not that I am complaining.How long are we anticipating this to carry on? Its a bit hot at night but I think that's making it more bare able as I am now getting used to sleeping in a room that reaches 28c every night if not higher.Coincidently 28.4C here at the moment with a dew point of 17c with 50% humidity.

Storm threat increases again this weekend and temps will be in the low 30's by Friday!

Another warm day, luckily (in a strange way) back in work with the air con for atleast part of my day, must admit it does not feel as hot and humid as the last few days have done, almost comfortable (but not quite there), see the outlook though is for temps to go up as the week progresses.

It was rather too hot in Portsmouth historic dockyard. Baking sunshine and not a hint of a sea breeze.

Tomorrow and Wednesday, dry and fine after a misty and possibly cloudy start. Winds east/north easterly. There could be some low cloud and mist around coasts at times. temperatures - 24-28C, cooler on the coast.

Note the trough, there could be a chance of some thundery showers triggered by the heat and destablisation of the atmosphere.

Modest cape

 

Temperatures - 25-29C, maybe 30C somewhere in the home counties.

A lot of uncertainty from Friday onwards with respect to any thundery outbreak and possible breakdown to a cooler westerly flow albeit still settled and warm. A long way off. Night all.

a trough to our east

 

and a cold front trying to come in from the west

 

now this is likely to cause some unstable air

would not rule out a 30 plus somewhere

Probably gloomier here, cloud is quite thick, but surprisingly warm considering.

Cloud has suddenly cleared to warm sunshine, the Met forecast mentions fog on the north Kent coast so I was worried we'd have the same here in south Essex but it's clearing up nicely now
