Got a lovely storm over us now. Lots of big deep rumbles and lighting. The sky looked mean just before it kicked off!

@Buzzard. Keeps getting lighter and then darker here, looks like the line of storms is back building from what I can see from MK. You may be in for more still.

Yep to a degree I suppose, still raining, but sky not that threatening. Good views of the storm moving off towards Luton area..

Massive clap of thunder over Bristol.

Relatively bright skies though and no rain.

We've had lots of torrential downpours today with one we just had that was torrential with a big rumble of thunder to the W which was over Exeter. I was definitely not expecting this outcome today.

Another shower that was briefly torrential, daily rainfall 9.6mm now.

There was one relatively distant rumble from over Exeter, so perhaps another day of between 1 and 3 distant rumbles to add to my count..

Would be nice if we could get a proper storm like many places, a good day for heavy showers though.

Missed most of the action from the storms that affected Kent now moving into the Thames estuary.A splattering of storms stretching from London to Portsmouth is heading NE so hoping for a hit from them!

Just noticed when I turned on the animation the echos North of the country are heading South yet in the midlands echos are moving due East. Quite a distinct difference in direction. On the North east side cells are very slow moving.

Some stunning bolts to my East - frequency picking up.

Havent seen anything here but a huge, classic thunderhead residing over South West Birmingham way. Very black skies in places.

There's nothing there now so it could have been genuine and not a mark on the camera

That weather station recorded a rain rate of 180mm/hr just before. Can see the other side of the responsible shower from here
