METO warnings still looking good for Monday, and now extended into Tuesday too :D  Hopefully we will see frequent, heavy snow showers. Could be some decent accumulations on the hills if the warning is right :cold:

Nice to hear of the snow reports this morning too. Managed a few flakes here, but she shower just missed and quickly went south.

Doesn't look good to me, highs of 5-6C all week, and I'm at 130m :cc_confused:

Once again as a wintry spell is upon us there's no chance of snow for us on the low lying east coast...

Its so hard to judge, its on a knife edge. trouble is, you cant trust the precipitation type radar as its model based, so it could actualy be showing blue (rain) and it could be snowing.

Temp in sheffield centre is now 3.5c so will be lower than that here. The radar is also playing tricks again, showing light PPN atm, but its dry.

really will be a case of see what falls when it gets here!

Snow to low levels here in the Northwest.

Thanks B_M

This proves my point above nicely infact. Heres the latest radar image from 11:45 this morning. It clearly shows blue everywhere near his location. However, you can see that the precipitation is quite heavy. This could be another boxing day scenario where the intensity helps the snow level down.

Nice to hear your reporting snow over there, despite the radar! :)

ive highlighted Ashton in the red circle:

Radar looks poor now, its almost all gone through, its not going to amount to much I dont think. Lets see what tomorrow and Tuesday can muster. Another streamer would be very nice haha! :cold:

Well its still snowing and lovely to see it during day light. Last few events seemed to be mostly at night. Shame it hasnt really settled but this is a warm front so cant expect anything. The warm sector looks very breif though, with METO forecast showing cold air flooding back in before morning and temps down to 1c by time were getting up. Could be some real ice problems around I think in the morning with this slush and wet surfaces. Could be some snow showers around too. Take care out there :)

Plenty of heavy showers now forming and moving in. Shame we're still in the warm sector. GFS 0.5 shows the cold uppers moving back in during the early hours though with -4 to -5s over much of Yorkshire by 1am. Showers could soon start to turn wintry again. Lets hope the radar keeps its intensity overnight:

Had an hour or so of wet snow yesterday, although nothing since.

December = Abysmal 2/3rds goodish end

January = Okay (some decent-ish snow events)

February = Abysmal

Mind you far better than last year with further snow opportunities lasting through to April. This year may also be last year in this thread, with a possible move to the SE in September :(
