After an absolutely stunning day yesterday when there was not a cloud in the sky all day, and it was t-shirt and shorts for a walk across Marsden Moor, today it's thick fog, cool and damp, talk about chalk and cheese...............

Serious rain here today, about worst we have ever had it - had it heavier for short (few hours) bursts before but we have now had 14 hours of heavy rain in the past 24 hours. Going to be serious flooding from this down stream, both our streams have broken their banks significantly and I would assume the environment agency are going to have a very busy few days.

Yes a proper Autumn day in Sheffield AT LAST!  Loved it. Very strong winds this morning and again building up to severe this evening. Love being up here and listening to the wind and rain. Sheffield got a good soaking this afternoon!

It looks as though Yorkshire will see its first snowfall this season, above 500m in the west however. Deff worth a ramp tho :p

The lack of posts on here show how quiet it is in the region.

yeah, its been such a boring few months hasnt it. So glad this mild dross is finally going, with signs next week will be more seasonal.

Tonight and into tomorrow morning looks fun, with strong winds and heavy rain. I know it can be a pain in rush hour but purely from a weather fans point of view its great!

Might even be a bit of sleet and hail in the showers tonight it said so ill be looking out later, may see my first flake hehe. Gota start somewhere :p

The winds are probably at the peak around now maybe higher if the squall line survives then they'll die down afterwards before picking up later tomorrow morning.

Moderate rain here but not a squall top gust 44 mph before the rain started.

A quiet night the squall line had lost is energy by the time it reached here. The over excited Helen Willets last night gave false hopes of something more even though I knew we were too far away from the storm for anything of note.
