What time is the main band due? Not sure where I can view short range high res models. Is it the stuff currently over Scotland thats due to develop and push south?

Meto predictive charts show 3am onwards, looking good for you mate for a covering.

Dry here the last shower passed well to the north east of us. Further than the radar suggests. So zilch so far.

Hmmm  last year i got the netweather radar and cursed myself with no snow - well no more than a dusting!...

Is it worth the agony this year of seeing decent snowdumps 15 miles away but nothing for Strensall?

Of course it is! Because maybe ... just maybe .... we get some snow in York this year.

Rather quiet in here, is there nothing happening anywhere, nothing happening here :( will stay up a bit longer, and for some reason the radar won't load on my phone either, so can't see if there anything coming either lol

Wow,look at that ppn oooop north getting heavier :D

now if it maintains it's intensity that would produce some good snow cover.

Incoming for the whole of North Yorkshire, will make land fall within the next 20-30 minutes and is pushing quickly south.

Now, rain, sleet or snow in the pesky warmer sector?!

There's been snow from the main belt in Tyne and Wear & Durham, probably because it was so heavy that evaporative cooling overcame the warmer sector, although up there the warming effects of the North Sea are now coming into play, especially near the coast.  In Yorkshire the problem is likely to be that the main belt of precipitation won't be as heavy, and so most of the region will probably see a sleety mix from it.

Still looks pretty heavy on the radar, a new band seems to be forming around the front of the band, although we all know how horrendous the warming effects from the North Sea can be.

It's a shame I sat this one out and stayed in London. I'll be up by Twickenham for the rugby later so hopefully I'll get lucky.

Light to moderate snow falling here but not settling currently, absolute white out across western parts of the NYM currently, sutton bank looks very dangerous!
