Heavy shower just stopping now. Are we expecting more tonight? Up for work at 5 and could imagine consett being a bit

The roads up here are clear atm, just the grass snow remains, though looking at wind vectors I would guess the north sea will keep the streamers coming throughout the night, fingers xd.

The current Snow line is at Dipton as chopwell has none

Well that was a nice hefty snow shower, slight cover too. hopefully with night fall upon us and temp dropping any more will produce a covering by morning...

More please!!!

Not a lot behind the next blob, hopefully things may intensify a little in the coming hours... Euro 4 shown earlier did look quite promising though

Well I have to say that I expected more shower activity this afternoon, from a cold north easterly across a relatively warm north sea.   Nothing of significance for the Tyne and Wear area for at least a couple of hours now, but could the line of showers building to the north be a trough sinking south.......

It is yes, and that will enhance the showers for time around midnight... so still hope yet for more snow. I am also a little dissapointed today with lack of showers imby!

Just returned from the pub (it was that cold I was almost doing a pub run coming home!) and it really is bitter out there now.

Had one or two snow showers this evening, the last one was about an hour ago. Nothing settled but hey .... it's nice to see a bit of wintry weather now and then!

You need to move to Dipton JP,that's where the best snow cover is this morning.:D

Should be plenty of happy campers on here by later on tonight.

No, I want the weather to come to me :D

Morning, well i must admit i was expecting abit more in the way of showers over past 24 hours. Some places did see way more than others (esp northumberland and north york moors)

Had a few hefty snow showers before midnight which gave a light covering here.

As for week ahead, starting today with a scattering of snow showers to start down the east coastal areas with these becoming less wintry during the day. then a very cold frosty night leading into a lovely winters day tomorrow with plenty of sunshine.

Wednesday is looking messy with a band of rain spreading slowly across the region and may become stalled with sleet/snow mixed in... again mainly high ground or on back edge as colder air mixes in... worth a watch for now.

End of week the jet stream ramps up again so atlantic controls the weather into the weekend with mainly westerly winds. Weekend looking pretty mild both by day and more so at night.

Very light dusting still on the ground and a few flakes in the air as I type these showers should die out by late morning and the wind should also ease

Woke up to a nice white covering and it still snowing. Nice supprise.

Are we expected any more showers today or is that it now?

Your location sweet for next hour or so if you look at radar and the line of showers moving down from the north. For me, i'm just to the west of that line of showers (just fleeting snow so far)

Few more this morning but dying out by late morning then the next chance is Wednesday

By Saturday and Sunday temps could be back into double figures

why is predicting where showers will form, flow and fall seem to be so hard to predict sometime? showers this morning are becoming more widespread down eastern side of A1... although don't think they will for much longer.

Heavy snow imby again now :D

Nice lot of showers making themselves this way this morning.  Opened the blinds to a nice minimal covering of the white stuff.  Not a lot by any means but nice to see either way.

EDIT - location is West Boldon currently.
