Strongest gust I've had here is 57.3mph and that was at midday! It quietened down significantly during the afternoon but the winds have picked up again.

not sure why there is a yellow warning out, it's been rubbish so far lol

Try driving through one of those Line Convection squalls and that will give you enough to warrant a yellow/brown warning !

Cheers, Met Office gust predictions were pretty much spot on for the Western Isles then.

A bit breezy and less than 2 mm of rain with the cold front. Very little to write home about here. Temp down to 10.3 from 14.0°C pre front

Still some time for the 60mph gusts in northern Scotland to die down, here in the Peak District the strongest winds were noticeable for a few hours between 4pm and 8pm. Apparently it was torrential rain in Buxton and Manchester but the squall managed to find a 'slot' where I live and we avoided the worse of the rain and SLW gusts associated.

Got my eye on NW coasts where the showers are now moving through, where there's a possibility of somewhere in the NW seeing a lightning strike or two into the early morning hours.

Quite a few sferics within 50 miles. A big shower out to the west. Temperature dropping, currently 8.4°C. This is more like it!

The squall found a slot here as well. and not a lot happened as it faded out moving south east

Abigail currently sitting to the north of Scotland with severe gales affecting Shetland this morning, gusting 60-70mph. A cool westerly air stream in her wake with snow falling over parts of Scotland.
