Good evening, a nice roast lamb cooked and eaten today then spent the last couple of hours starring alongside my hubby in my teenage daughters short film for college! I was murdered!!! :sorry:

Temp 3.2 dp 2.3

so not expecting much, still it's cozy in bed!!

would love to see some snow tonight, but there's little to no chance that will happen.

still jealous of all those who got snow last night but hope you enjoyed it! The lovely pictures posted on here today were beautiful!

Calm descends on this thread after last nights shenanigans, it was a cracking good night I must say!  Chilly outside, 2.1c and fairly calm, I don't think we'll see anything else of note out of this cold spell.  However, the models are hinting at something of interest right at the end of the month.  It's very early days but it's definitely something to keep an eye on.

Got a feeling some of us are going to get a surprise tonight from the stalling front out west.

Not sure the showers in the channel will reach over here, if they do it may be snow provided they do not raise the temp and dp to much. So far temp still dropping currently 2.1 but dp is rising, still in the minus though.

Remember when we get a Cold Continental SE'ly the air tends to be drier so with that feed from the SW the front edge could fall as snow on -1 850Hpa's, it's a whole different ball game than the usual -7 uppers guide.

The Atlantic advancement has been pushed back a little, the BBC had double figures for London on Friday based on this particular run max temps of 3C are being shown. Cold southeasterly a lot better for our region with short sea track, although no snow to speak of aside from coastal fringes, famous last words. Let's hope we get this thread buzzing again like yesterday despite being quite a poor show - it may well do by the tentative signs I'm seeing early days....JMA end frames in reality would cause netweather's servers a real problem. :D

Just for fun, but what a superb synoptic that is for us -18*C isotherm covering us just think of the lake effect pilling in from North Sea....although it is the dangerous cold for vulnerable folk.

The sytem in the SW atm has become almost stationary as it comes up against the block, not often you see that. http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

Seems to be stuck just before it reaches us! Hopefully it will go back!!!

Its amazing how strong that block is. Will be interesting to see if the models have under estimated its strength and the Atlantic, in fact, struggles to push it back East later Thursday / Friday this week? Food for thought? Have a great day all!:D

I think the way today will now plan out is a perfect example of why not to get overly excited about anything snowy 48hrs+

:friends:

Anyway good signs further down the line in terms of getting Cold Weather back in, hopefully this time round from the East.

Lovely crisp winter morning, over night low of 1.1, now 1.6. The sun really isn't doing much to warm things up yet. Rain in south west seems to be disintegrating, not just pushing back.

Lovely morning, wouldn't of thought that the weekend had been cold and snowy.  no frost, just a little bit of mist.
