overnight modelling so far is just about spot on...modelling convergence kicking off storms to the Midlands region and a tongue of moist air with plenty of energy pushing through parts of central southern England/west country......Just driven down from Wolverhampton, and storms were just starting to fire when I left, drove through some torrential rain with sporadic lightning down the A417 between Gloucester and Swindon, and the other half told me it was thundering here an hour or so ago....a couple of more discrete cells have fired over salisbury plain drfting NNW............modelling infers showers/storms to continue for several hours anywhere M4 corridor northwards, with the chance of some elevated convection into the SE of England moving NWwards

Thunderstorm here in Lincolnshire, very oppressive at the moment. You could feel the heat and energy building today while i was in Gainsborough.

Plenty of noise but little going on in lightening. Heavy rain to report also

All quiet here again now. Nice to hear something and that rain has made it feel lovely and fresh.

Not a bad week all in all. Getting good compensation for the pain we have to suffer during winters these days...

...but let's save that discussion for 6 months time..now is not the time!
