Summer 2016 high temperature watch

Unsure if there is a thread already on this subject - can't see one.

Would be good to see this thread used to predict likely high temps this summer. What is the current recorded high.. have we hit 30 degrees yet - don't think so, but 28 degrees has been achieved I believe.

Good to see widespread maxima in recent days over 25 degrees - quite a rarity in recent summers - you do need a slack airstream to produce such conditions, the synoptics of the last couple of days being ideal, with a flabby elongated ridge settled directly over the country, quite hard to achieve.

Our average yearly max temp is 31.7c, and we usually get about 4-5 days above 30c.

 

If the forecast of a warmer than average July and August comes off this year, then I'll go for something between 33-34c.
