Losing light fast, almost completely dark except for a lighter patch of sky to my northwest, but I can just see a huge bank of dark clouds to the southwest.

I think everyone has misinterpreted my statement, most of the action has gone through the English Channel not over the land and yes I am watching Blitzortung and can see a thunderstorm moving NE towards London.

Not joking, most of the action has gone through the English Channel. Some action has gone through Southern England but not a huge amount, we'll have to see what happens overnight.

Just had a spectacular sunset here with some Altocumulus and Altocumulus Castellanus clouds lit up!

Just because your not in the firing line  looks good to me for SE England brilliant in fact!

Are you even following radar?  There are storms currently in Sussex/Surrey which made landfall in the New Forest - that isn't a Kent Clipper in any way.

Indeed - it's looking pretty much like the Beeb/MetO predicted?

We did very well up here last week so am well pleased for you guys in the South East tonight. Enjoy.

EDIT: There does seem to be quite a few false lightning returns showing. One almost middle of London, now another near Ross on Wye.

Don't understand how I'm wrong?! Several thunderstorms have clipped the Kent coast, you can see that on Blitzortung and I acknowledged the fact that a thunderstorm is moving NE towards London! I'm confused?

New cells firing up just east of Brest now.

I'm now trying to make a decision. Go to sleep now and get up at 3.30/4am. Or hang on until gone midnight and get up at 7am. Work is going to be a struggle tomorrow.....an then comes round 2 tomorrow night!

For those who did say storms were likely to stay over the other side of the channel because of past experience, and because UK, good forecast, guys. :good:
