Had a light to moderate soft hail shower earlier with *gulp* backedge rain!

East/ West split over me still, has been since midday, settled skies to the west, unsettled skies to the east, assume falling as pure rain, so not missing out on anything

Showers, at least here, were initially quite wintry with hail and graupel, although some of the latest showers (including the one overhead right now) have been just pure rain

The chilly, cloudy, damp weather can just vanish now! A depressing day today.

Chilly weather can be a real waste when it's no longer cold enough for wintry precipitation.

It's all down to the showers moving south tonight and whatever happens on Sunday as to whether we can achieve the driest April on record here, though it seems unlikely.

The record is 10.9 mm in 2011 and the total for this month so far is 10.5 mm. Second driest was 1984 with 11.6 mm and third driest 1980 with 12.9 mm.

After some very light drizzle in the early hours which was just enough to dampen the ground it's now fine and dry with the cloud breaking giving some sunny spells with light Northerly winds.

Temp 9.3c

Light showers with some moderate bursts here just now with overcast sky's and a light N/E wind, A typical dull Bank Monday so I have lit the open fire.

Temp 8.9c

A dull start here,it's been raining steadily for the last 3 hours though skies are brightening up to the south.A very calm and still start unlike yesterday which had a nagging easterly all day.

Another stunning day here. The clarity of the air & low humidity is wonderful, if the breeze was just a touch lighter it would be genuinely warm too, as it is, I'd settle for days like this anytime.

What a lovely few days this week we've had even got a little tan with the UV starting to get quite strong now, but today thick cloud with drizzle at times.... felt like a dark November day here.

Currently... no change and 10c

Wonder if any of those showers west of London will pep up, if so we could be in for something tonight as they seem to be going in a NNW direction.
