I'm a little more confident than last night thunderstorm-wise, with lots of models picking up on it, as well as the Ac Cas, the humidity and overall instability. Good luck everyone, this could top summer off nicely!

Lots of mammatus and black wavy (can't recall the correct name) cloud bases here now and on the way home from London - in the past this often led to a storm..,not so sure these days...certainly humid enough too I think. First drops of rain as I type.

The cold front is the trigger, so even that's around. The low comes up, the warmth bumps into the cold front right over us. Just don't know whether to expect loads of rain, or thundery rain.

Elevated shower in the channel clouding things over... to be honest i think it will kick off a bit later, but it's all about now casting!

What a difference 50 odd miles makes. It's been nothing but drizzle here and cool, but I've just about made out the sun and warmth to the east pretty much all day! A big temperature gradient over a short distance that's for sure.

I might just be going crazy, but i thought i just heard a very distant, elevated rumble, and as i was typing some sferics well away from the storm showed up. hmmmmm.....

Looks like a small cell just north of France heading north towards the East Sussex coast!!
