Let me know if you get anything, although I’ll probably get it first.

Heavy rain just about to start. Let’s see what it does to the temperature. Meanwhile the colder 850s begin to move in.

Wow how good is this! Latest.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Cold and windy on Sunday and Monday with sunny spells and snow showers. Sleet or snow is likely overnight into Tuesday with sunshine but also further snow showers later.

How’s it looking for us Chris? We have rain here now. Do we have any hope?

Same here- think todays already looking a bust to me.

Sunday is our big day, hope that doesn't get downgraded!

After that the 0z are all very underwhelming from where im sat, looks like quite an Atlantic dominated pattern setting up.

Temp is steadily dropping. -8 850s and sub 522 thicknesses don’t arrive until after 6 AM so going as expected so far.

Yep, I think the SSW isn't looking likely to bring us anything of note as things stand.

This was something of a risk that was pointed out by a few though in the MOD thread.

on a brighter note sunday looks very snowy for our region, hope altitude doesn't become a factor , with uppers of -8 and negative dews it could be very good!

I'm tempted to wait up to see if this next developing clump is snow.

GFS has delayed the neg dews until after 6am Crewe so i dont think anything prior to that will be snow.

Probably, it’s dropping now (2.6°C) but I’m not confident it will be in time before the precip disappears.

Heavy spell of rain...no doubt when the colder air really sets in the rain/sleet would have exit stage right and we'll be left grasping at any rogue hit and miss wintry showers.  Sunday's build-up will no doubt suffer the inevitable downgrades today and tomorrow.

Rain here. Disappointing after the bullish forecasts. Oh well, may be some snow showers following the rain but my hopes are not high. Roll on Sunday....

Yes the colder air is digging in now..

Sunday tho, looks really good, hopefully a sledge day , should keep any snowcover until monday so fingers crossed.

I will be gutted if sunday downgrades, its not oftern we see those uppers from a westerly source, no doubt euro4 when it comes into range will downgrade our region.

The bbc/meto text sounds encouraging but then again they were talking 2-5 cm on ground above 100m for today, and i really cant see that happening.

The 5cm of snow in the warning was very much dependent on this first clump of heavy rain being snow I'm sure. I'd love to be proved wrong but I think we will be lucky to scrape a cm today.
