BBC National and regional forecasts. Didn’t appear to show any snow showers following, which seems odd.

BBC are good. There's a warning out for 2-5 cm of snow and their national forecast said 'Rain, hail and sleet'. Then the regional forecast said '1-3 cm of snow over hills'.

Right....

Hmm not sure about a few inches, that would imply 7.5+ cm's...

I think maybe a couple of cm's in places but think it could be more of a wintry mix tbh, depends how well the cold air digs in.

12Z Arpege isn't interested in any snowfall for the midlands tomorrow. Precipitation is over Norfolk when cold air digs in.

Sorry I ment two. Getting my severals. Couples and few mixed up.  As a footnote does anyone know where the BBC get there forecasts now from?  As it's different to the met office

Must be using the new provider already, MeteoGroup. Their forecast shows sleet here while the Met Office shows heavy snow. Clearly the Met Office are better and the BBC shouldn't have dumped them ;-)

Met Office warnings - 2-5 cm above 100 metres (i.e. here).
Met Office regional forecast - Many places waking to a covering of snow and then frequent snow showers through the day.
Met Office automated forecast - Spell of heavy snow followed by snow showers.

BBC national forecast - Spell of rain and sleet and then dry for the rest of the day
BBC regional forecast - 1-3 cm of snow over hills as an area of snow moves through. Then one or two wintry showers.
BBC automated forecast - Sleet showers all day.

That's crystal clear then.

They are hopeless and new graphics won't hide the fact.

The models are the same, look at difference between Arpege and Hirlam. Just see what we wake up to

Haven't been following the weather for a week, is Telford going to get anything tomorrow?

Don't sue me if I'm wrong, but so far as I can see we are only likely to get an inch, if that - that's going by forecasts...

Going by charts, it could be a bit more.

Or it could be none at all, of course :)

My fingers are crossed!!!
