Streamer..... shame it’s more rain than snow

(I know it’s the end of the front passing but it looks like a streamer to me. :nonono:)

I just discovered the new met office app for IOS and the Radar is pretty sweet IMO, always used the desktop radar which was very clunky on smartphones.

Doesnt show snow/rain differences but very smooth and gives last 6 hours in a lovely format.

check it out.

Im just playing it down because I dont want it to take affect until the 18th :friends:

Don’t worry NK, I’m leaving the country on the 23rd so we probably won’t see anything of snowy interest until then, then the Atlantic will go all guns blazing with channel lows :whistling:

Sadly khodds the heavier ppn i think will miss us... playing it back an forth a clear eastwards shift of the line and that heavy bit looks like it will end up east of us :wallbash:

Yes it’s been there for a while it’s really cool . If you press the little boxes on bottom left you can view pressure as well shows fronts and DAM lines sometimes. Much better

I’m not so sure about the meto app for radar, I prefer home and dry... here’s the latest screen grabs from both... home and dry shows more than meto

Yea nice isn't it.

Also anyone catch the new BBC graphics on points west with Ian? First impressions were pretty dam good :) I remember when the picture graphics got replaced back in 2006/7 and the hatred that ensued, but at first glance this next step looked alright. Ian said it's like having a new toy, and that there's plenty of scope for more individual forecasts etc, he even went with the 'snow radar' instead of rainfall.

That's the future radar. You need to go back in time a bit. :)

After a couple of hours of very light snow it's really pepped up here and been snowing quite heavily for the last half hour. Lovely!
