Blocking not very strong to the North though ...

That's true but strong enough to keep us on the north side of the jet which presents wintry opportunities.

Stunning day in the Lake District, a sharp frost overnight which lingered in sheltered parts all day, making for very hard frozen ground. Wall to wall sunshine, blue skies, little wind, and excellent views. It felt pleasant in the sun, almost springlike with lesser calendine coming into flower and the odd daffodil. Birds tweeing etc..

Another sharp frost tonight, but tomorrow looks bright at best, more cloud and we might even squeeze out an odd snow flurry. Winds will be stronger as well.

Just tried the number The OX (your wife) she told me it's nothing to worry about, just a few flakes in the wind before turning much much milder.

I was at the allotment before wrapping stuff to protect against the cold and the area really felt mildish.. it must have been 5C even though it was going dark. Strange given what were staring at over the horizon

Fishing today on the lake and it was also feeling pleasant in the sunshine. It's freezing now tho.

8-14 hrs of seeing the GM snow shield shred every last bit of incoming snow on its incoming south east trajectory.  I can see it being very painful radar watching Thurs/Friday lol... however other parts of the region could strike it lucky....particularly out west and further east on the favourable side of the Peaks and Pens.  Still time to firm up on it's exact northern limit.
