I'll be frank, that doesn't look that great for us. It's even further south!

That Euro4 chart and other short range models have left me a bit deflated for Tuesday tbh.

I wouldn't worry about it nickR even if the main part of that feature missed us the convection expluds behind it when the -14 to -15 air goes over the north sea

Updated warning for tomorrow

Between 14:00 Mon 26th and 23:55 Mon 26th

Snow showers, already affecting eastern parts of England early on Monday, are expected to become more persistent and more widespread through Monday afternoon and evening. There is the potential for travel delays on roads, stranding of some vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel. Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.

Chief Forecaster's assessment

Snow showers, which will have been affecting eastern areas of England from Sunday night, are likely to become heavier, more frequent and more widespread through Monday afternoon. There is the potential for accumulations of 5-10 cm in places, whilst nearby locations may see much less frequent showers and only small accumulations of 0-2 cm.

I wouldn't think so stozzy a small warm sector but uppers still -8 and dewpoints around 0 at worst, all snow for me, In my opinion the Euro4 is terrible at forecasting for our region anyway

The showers forming over north sea are already a snow/rain mix so no concerns from me that they'll be anything but snow when arriving on our shores.

Amber warning just issued for Redcar and Cleveland on Tuesday the rest of the region remains under a yellow warning

Between 04:00 Tue 27th and 11:00 Tue 27th

Snow showers or longer periods of snow are expected on Tuesday, accompanied by very low temperatures. The heaviest, most persistent snow looks likely to cross the area during the morning. There is the likelihood of travel delays on roads, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel. Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.

Chief Forecaster's assessment

Further snow showers are expected through Tuesday, with the likelihood that a more organised area of snow will push southwest during the morning, bringing 5 to 10 cm of snow in places in just a few hours. Strong winds may lead to drifting of lying snow (and severe wind chill) especially over hills, with lightning perhaps an additional hazard near North Sea coasts.

Just quoting PM's charts from another thread notice how we have dew points around 0 or 1 on Tuesday morning whilst almost everywhere else they are sub-zero

Probably explains why Euro 4 shows some rain close by to us and NE Scotland

I still remember the Jan event. Had a yellow warning and ended up with 3 inches. So these dividing lines for warnings are very vague to me. Anywhere in the north east should expect the unexpected
