Anything can happen in these setups fingers crossed for Yorkshire ❄️

That's correct, just because there's little showing for end of week now doesn't mean we won't get some snow come the time.

One thing I have just noticed is that the radar is showing snow falling in North sea just off East coast of Scotland, so now we know that despite the warmish North sea the air incoming is cold enough for snow.

As long as everything keeps coming from North East it will get very interesting this and next week as the air becomes even colder and the warmish North sea can hopefully turn into snow making machine. 🤞 😃

Snow showers possible around 8pm tonight,  just had a notification on my phone I'll try to screenshot it.

The wolds West of Rudston may see a few showers feeding in. Octon area Sledmere the usual spots.

Bridlington into the early hours may see along with Scarborough a dusting by morning IF under any lengthy clear spells shower clouds move into the colder air.

If that makes sense. Showers seem to be feeding in around 9:45pm rather than 8pm as suggested feeding in most of the night next update 11:30pm from me.

Currently snowing here should be a covering by the morning.

Snowing on Staxton Hill not sure of the Octon area.

Showers likely to come further inland tonight ?

Hard to tell, could just be coastal clippers?

Depend on wind direction, currently showers are running almost parallel to the coast, if the winds veer more northerly then they will come further inland

Wind is turning. It's already veered NE in Scotland and snow is getting further inland in the Borders to central areas. It looks to be working its way down so it looks like most places in Yorkshire have a chance of snow, given the temperatures.  For anyone looking in from elsewhere, it's only 2.2C @ 25m alt. here in the Vale of York after a 2.7C high and I'm staring at a white garage roof still and there's ice in buckets. The breeze is numbing and the central heating is taking forever to get going. And then you go to the model output thread and some folk are still arguing its too warm to snow when radar shows it's been snowing over the North Sea off Hull!

It was very borderline here this morning, we are about 1 mile from the sea, but 78m asl. Snow ended up sticking on the grass and roofs but melting on roads and pavements. Even now the snow that fell this morning is sticking around where the sun hasn't reached. Daily bike ride took me to Bridlington today as usual route was flooded again, and in Bridlington snow hadn't stuck at all, thats pretty well sea level. In these situations even 0.3 deg C warmer or colder can make a big difference to the outcome, together with dew point. I think here it will be'wait and see', further inland I would suggest there will definitel;y be a good covering by the morning, as to how far inland, thats down to the veering winds.
