It's really wintry out there tonight like.  Still 1-2cm laying from last night in places,  freezing dense fog and  -1.5 already.  Far from the standard December weather.

Went to Toby carvery for lunch today and there was quite a bit more of a covering of snow compared to home. It felt bitter doing the school run just before. Hopefully we will see some snow over the next few days

Maybe just me but it feels that post 2010 BFTE the south have had more snow events than us, maybe shortlived but at least they had them, seems like Teesside as had very few decent snow events.

Hoping for some showers to pep up later, Just had a look at Neil Bradshaw South Shields Weather and temp is -2.9 with DP at -3.3 so would not be marginal even at the coast

I think we’ve had just as many to be honest just nobody notices because it’s not in the South!

Could well be the case but I aren't so sure, they have had many cold mild battleground snowfalls, as I say short lived and I wouldn't want them in truth

I’d take a dusting right now to be honest!

Don't think we will get anything tonight, tomorrow night looks good though.

Could contain: Plot, Chart, Map, Atlas, Diagram

We really need a N/E'ly or easterly flow to get any snow into our region.   Rare we get it from the NW.   Needs to be just the right angle.

Thoughts everybody on what's going on in the mod thread regarding the breakdown ?

Personally I think we may see the cold hanging around here for quite a while yet.

Hopefully get to see some snow on Teesside ( and more for all posters here ) later tomorrow and Wednesday.

I think and hope most places in Teesside will see some snow the next few days. How much though who knows but we’re not greedy are we lol.
further ahead as you can tell by the mod thread the south members not liking the  outputs as Mild air does arrive, will we see snow on the edge of it… maybe but this is the worst kind of snow for me, nothing worse than heavy snow turning to slush.

Let’s hope us up north keep on to the cold air as long as possible and then there is always a chance of warm/cold snow scenario.

Im sure this time tomorrow night this forum In here will be busy 🤞🏻

Been in the lakes since Saturday.  A light dusting here and there.  Most of the hills have no snow. No snow all the way back over the A69.  No snow back at home..  Quite surprising that many other places in the UK have snow  cover.

I wouldn't say it looks boring at all.  The ppn charts aren't the best at picking up convective stuff.  I mean the snow I had wasn't really forecast to any decent degree.  Meto weather warnings in force now so see what happens as the day progresses.  That meto video also showed areas of snow showers pushing into the North east from this afternoon.

If you look at the video closely most of it is cloud with a little bit of precipitation moving down the coast.

I agree, shows plenty of snow showers for the region from this evening and overnight.

It doesn't lol it highlights areas of heavy snow showers mate. Suppose the only way to see what happens for any of us is radar and now casting.
