Doesn't feel that bad at all in Darlo the stronger March sunshine is certainly making a difference now

Yep was quite surprised how hot it felt in the car with the strong sun & blue skies. Only the shaded areas keeping the overnight frost. Need a decent overnight fall this time of year

Midweek certainly looks to be interest to ourselves and spanning out to late weekend. Unfortunately not much faith in any forecasts this week due to the bizarre set up of how much cold is being sucked from the East into the Atlantic lows & the Greeny forcing. Such a shame there is no US lows anywhere to prop the Greeny high

A few models are also getting convection going ahead of the front Wednesday/Thursday with wind direction much more favourable

Can you call them snowman these days ??

I am sure someone will be wanting to change it to snow he/him or snow she/her.

But either way let's hope we are all building them.

Weekend of St Paddys looks to see a return of snow risk as a very slow moving low which enters the frame this Thursday takes an eternity to reach us via an Iceland cold pit stop then head our way

No I would be surprised ,comes at the wrong time and ground temps would be to high

Tomorrow looks a outside chance winds turn more north easterly for the majority of the day

4c here in Darlo with -8 850s that strong March sunshine certainly makes a difference now during the day if you can get clear skies

GFS backing away from 100% snow chance at the coast and bringing in the reds.  All the way from Thurs into Fri.  You really need cold air for snow near the coast (10 miles) with an easterly windCould contain: Chart, Plot, Map, Atlas, Diagram, Outdoors, Nature

The Metoffice have changed from heavy snow all morning to light snow transitioning to rain on Friday morning for my location. It was only a matter of time. And I'm over 400ft about 15 mile from the coast.

We would need a perfect track for it to stay as snow,  inland with elevation looks and big event as it stands.

These frontal snow events are 95% of the time a fail here I’d be happy with a hour of falling snow

It will change all the time it’s going to be a nowcast there no agreement at all. The met use the UKV model which is significantly further north than most other models

Crazy differences between the met and the latest ECM. Met precipitation as far north as Aberdeen the ECM barely gets it to the borders

You're 10 minutes from Consett if you can make it there in the blizzards. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere 😉

My take on Thursday for most of Teesside. Will start of as light snow, turn to sleet pretty quickly and then to rain with no accumulations.

I’ve just watched the met office deep dive and I would describe as basically a cold ramp for northern England

I've give up now if I'm been honest, roll on some warmer temperatures.  Another shambles of a winter, dull and boring.  Will be nice to get some warm sunsets with my camera, there's always next winter 🤷
