Temp and Dew point dropping away nicely now bring on the precipitation

We stand a good chance through the night when the showers come in from the East, these look to be heavy showers early morning 6/7 o’clock, with ground now cold and drying it could be our last chance of some fun.

Moderate snow here now as the convective showers hit.  Seems to be laying which is bizarre considering it's 2.5c.

Dew temps are in the negatives and your in the colder air(don't think Newcastle ever left the cold air) so the PPN is likely to be alot drier. Plus ground temps are probably colder up there from earlier in the week.

Yes we've had constant snow since 6pm, but it has only put down a cm at best here... the fells will have received a lot more.

About 10 mile outside Newcastle near blizzard conditions for the past 2 hours. Powdery at times but expecting some drifts if this carries on till morning! Turned out to be a very good event

Very poor show in Whickham. Looks like there's a gap in the chunky showers over Tyneside. Another one to forget

That's v poor as couple of inches at Dipton, barely 4 miles away. Would have thought fellside road area to have similar. Ofcourse Whickham topography v dependant upon at top or bottom of Whickham bank, you know the posh part.

Still snowing though much lighter again

North East Traffic Cameras (Sunniside & Lobley Hill) show most areas around you had a decent covering but v oddly the Whickham camera mostly a grass cover. Very odd indeed given height. Though you've plenty of very nearby places in sledging distance to get a fix.

Winter wonderland!!!

Good couple of cm’s here, everything is covered and the sky still looks full of it. One of those classic events which we have not had in a long time!
