Incredibly wet sleety hail here in darlington.

Same here where I work in Prudhoe. Expect it to turn more flakey as it turns dark!

Precipitation petered out pretty much as soon as it started. Looks like it will get going again soon

Rain, as sleety rain even in Consett! Could get interesting later as precipitation intensifies

Well if it’s raining in Consett the rest of us have no chance.

Temps are set to drop over the next couple of hours so fingers crossed it changes to white stuff.

Was always meant to start off sleety, even up here, can't see any issues as the night progresses though

Ice pellets/rain in durham. Hoping for a covering tonight. Looking like the snow should start later on this evening. Met office forecast is still promising.

Have just been out and it's on the verge of sleet. More like freezing rain/ice pellets. In Chester le street. Hopefully the next couple of hours the freezing level will drop and we will all get in on the action tonight.

Same in Middlesbrough too. Freezing rain/ice pellets whatever you want to call it hopefully it’s a sign of things to come do you know what time the main event is meant to start?
