Settling rapidly in Clacton now. I think being a couple of miles inland is helping mix out the higher dewpoints here, the air is having to come in over a bit of land to reach me.

Still very light snow here, skies are brightening if anything, nothing lying anywhere, just looks wet!

Properly coming down in Ipswich now, intensity just increased, wind whipping up and creating blizzard like conditions at times

Covering of snow and light to moderate snow falling here at Silver Hill (East Sussex/Kent border). Temp -0.1C DP -0.4C.

Right looking at other spectacular of this spell, tomorrow and Tuesday look very likely to produce an ice day for most of the region (-1/0c without snow over, knock a degree or so off for eastern parts with snow).

This model has slightly higher maxima than most here (GFS is a couple of degrees colder)

 

Wednesday onwards. The temperatures may scrape above freezing as we see increasing amounts of sunshine and winds fall light. However there will be sharp or even severe frosts at night.

From next weekend, settled conditions look favoured for us, there might be some high cloud from decaying fronts out west. However it is likely we will see lots of sunshine and a continuation of nighttime frosts. However a return to very cold and snowy condition cannot be ruled out as severe cold is likely to push into Central Europe and could easily move our way of high pressure orientates the right way.

I’m also on the west Kent border with Surrey and we have light snow just starting to settle on the cars and roofs
