Finally something resembling snow falling here. Well it is icy drizzle and it didn’t last long. Time for sleep I think.

Let's hope so, and fire it over the Estuary!

Well I wouldn't say it's "kicking off", it's very light and sporadic everywhere. Mainly the wind that makes it look heavier than it is! Big bust to be honest

?

Winds don't begin shifting until 1am ish. If nothing is happening by 3-4am then it's a bust. Way too early to be calling it.

It's just started.

Give it time and a trip across the estuary.

Looks like the snow coming into Dover now is independent of Darcy, it's a different type, more flaky, less dry looking. Probably now have convective snow.

Well I'm calling it, the radar hasn't really pepped up at all in the last 5 hours, infact it's actually decayed. If I'm wrong I'm wrong!

Thoroughly disappointing start to the cold spell for me, I did expect more although never the 5/10cm predicted by some.   Just goes to show how difficult it really is to forecast.  Bitterly cold week ahead, hopefully some meaningful chances appear in this neck of the woods.

Its just picking up the clouds of salt from where the council have gritted the roads. Still nothing here in Basildon.

That stuff firing up over Southend and Burnham looks like it might be about to join up with a form a streamer with the line coming into Clacton.

Been a decent day here in the end, very icy on top of and under the snow now though!

Currently -1.1c, DP -2.2c with light snow blowing about in the still moderate easterly wind.

Still powder here in east Suffolk, but yes it's looking like more convective elements getting into your area and also across north Norfolk too

It's good to see that some did very well on day one of our cold spell. Hopefully it will last a good while and more get in on the action as the week progresses.

Can't lie, I like many I'm sure was hoping for more today but the weather will do what the weather does. At least I saw falling snow even if it didn't really settle much.

Looking decent across the Thames from the Essex precip. Anyone able to confirm anything yet?
