It's looking good.

Just a tad concerned-6 uppers will cut it away from higher ground.

Certainly my preference will always be the Easterly ,but a cold Westerly is a good second.

This could be a really good event.

Very heavy slow moving streamer Blackburn into North Manchester possible Friday 4 to 9 am.

Higher parts of Oldham to the North East should get lucky if a streamer sets up right on Friday... the M62 summit cams will be interesting to view.  I'd be a little disappointed if I didn't see some snowy activity even here but a little more height will make all the difference.

After a very mild start, the weather has shifted to (very) cold. BBC showing a low of -5c here. Hoping for some snow on Friday, looks good so far!

You'd be absolutely fine directly under the streamer it'll all be snow.

For sure it's about the precip ...

For some reason Showers from an Easterly seem to have no problem hitting our area, but from a westerly they tend to dodge us ..

Wonder if its a Pennines thing..

It's taking all precip as snow. Still, shows how much there could be above 250m where it will all be snow.

EC has suppressed temps on Fri ,really rare from the West.

With dew points sub zero until after midnight it could be a very snowy day for some.

If anyone deserves it it's our region.

Usual forecasts of cold rain for us over here.  Can't really see any snow west of the M6.
