We've just had a pretty heavy wet snow shower too. The Meto weather warning looks promising for tonight for many in the west/central areas away from the coast.

Dry and sunny here with clear blue skies but with a cold, strong wind from the west making the fallen tree batter somewhat alarmingly against the windows

Sadly the warning seems to fall in line with what I expect here. Showers passing through West Lothian and then to the south of Edinburgh as per usual. Might catch the edges of a couple here as we are just outside the warning but I suspect we'll see very little.

Snow and a Low. Looks windy for Lothian Thurs AM and lunchtime, although not compared to west coast/Western Isles tonight.

Wonder what MO are going to go with for the Wind warning?

oh just out as yellow

"A brief period of severe gale force westerly winds will develop across the Western Isles during the early hours of Thursday morning bringing gusts up to 70-75 mph, the Uists most likely to see the strongest winds. Then a brief period of strong to gale west to southwesterly winds will transfer quickly eastwards across the rest of the warning area on Thursday morning"

We have had  wild swirly snow showers and it's settled just on the highest field above the village I can see, which is at around 135m asl and south-east facing.  Conditions set to remain about the same through the day, with further showers.

The latest shower is settling on cars and grass so if, if, if, if only I didn't live next to the sea!!

Showers of wet snow here now - 1.6C and the snowline is around 300m. Could be the most wintry morning of the season here tomorrow - defined by temp and depth/severity of snow. But that's not saying much this year!

No, I remember last winter you were racking up the number of frosts like some Norwegian ski centre!

Showers, whilst infrequent, are now big fluffy flakes. Not even the slightest hint of it lying though.

Edit: latest shower was starting to lie on the grass and cars before it blew through.

You're right HC! What a frosty year 20/21. Monday just gone was our 23rd air frost, whilst last year we were at 38 by today.

Doesn't surprise me @101_North. 17 of this year's 23 air frosts have been in the range of -0.1 to -1.9C which is hardly bone chilling...

It is a cross between Sleet Rain and Hail and snow out in rural Perthshire in the Cleish area.

Been a boring year to say the least, the quietest of my 12 years on netweather.

Here's hoping for some interesting weather.

Hmm, gazing distractedly through window during very boring work call and shock, wet snow falling. I nearly accidentally unmuted and shared this with numerous civil servants scattered throughout the land.

It would have been far more interesting than what we were meant to be talking about

Surely we'll be granted at least one event when it's just the 2 of us online at 2am lamppost watching and drinking?

I'm sort of missingthe old house now... bet they've got snaw. I'm not missing it enough to want to go back though - not with a shop full of sweeties and cake just along the road.
