Ended up at 19.6C and this dark electric monster passed by east of the house:

Could contain: Plant, Tree, Tree Trunk, Field, Grassland, Nature, Outdoors, Scenery, Countryside, Vegetation

Missed it over Peebles by an hour - phew. Was dry afterall. Pleased Finn:

Could contain: Grass, Canine, Dog, Pet, Grassland, Outdoors, Person, Pointer, Viaduct, Arch

Rather quiet out and about. Sainsbury's was even bearable.

Mind you, the peace was shattered or more rumbled earlier, as the annual Blyth Bridge tractor run passed the house mid morning - some beasts of old machines and some very smiley enthusiasts:

Could contain: Road, Tarmac, Person, Plant, Tree, Clothing, Hat, Motorcycle, Gravel, Car

Four hours later these guys were through the centre of Peebles - could hear them whilst down by the river. Excellent work and raising money for Macmillan.

Over to Galloway for a few days, despite poor forecast.  Dry, partly sunny, and 19c on Dumfries by-pass.  Only 16c over here with wind off sea, but folk still sitting out at hotel.  Saltires easily outnumbering any other flippery en route.

An absolutely vile day here! Chilly at 9c with a persistent haar. Haven't seen the hills behind the house for days! Now misty and damp with heavy rain. A pretty awful spring so far round here!

Another horrid day here... like mid winter. You wouldn't think it's summer in 3 weeks... still no wood for the fire. I've never had so much trouble in getting firewood delivered, its crazy..

Can’t relate to our members in the East and not sorry about it 😆

First day of the year I would describe as ‘warm and humid’. Currently just shy of 17c, feels like it might rain but also might turn very sunny. Largely cloudy currently

Funnily enough the wife and I had a day trip down to Dumfries & Galloway today, from parents house in central belt, and very pleasant it was too. Saw 19C at one point, and no nagging easterly wind either. All the vegetation much more advanced than Aberdeenshire.

It actually cleared here for about 40 minutes before the cold dank haar descended again. It felt warm in those fleeting moments…captured on my dog walk.😃

Foggy / haary here too with the foghorn blaring out. Further convective opportunities after we get the soaking from the frontal precip ☔️ I'm also craving some atlantic air just to actually be able to see the cumulonimbus bubbling up would be lovely 😂

West is best I guess.... 19/20c just south of Ayr today and I'm sunburnt after being out on the beach most of the day🤣

This was one of the few cloudier spells.

Haar finally cleared through the afternoon! Lovely evening with some late sunshine. Still only 12c but nice to get rid of the damp for a bit at least!

Cloud getting up now ahead of the next lot of rain. There was a chance of showers and a storm today I suppose but never materialised. The week ahead looking iffy surely a few storm opportunities

The brightness was fun while it lasted. That's the haar rolling back in with a vengeance!

Vile. Absolutely vile! Windy and wet. Horrible. But at least it's milder 😞

Not as good a day yesterday as forecast. Was 15c at 10am but didn’t really rise much and the sun failed to properly break through.

Today is a wet one. I’d agree with saying it’s pretty ‘vile’ as stated above. 11c and v wet.

Great growing weather though, things have exploded in the last 7-10 days (as has my hayfever!). I cut my grass 5 days ago and it’s already looking too long (cries)

Win some, lose some.

Finally able to see the surrounding hills for the first time in ages - in between the bursts of heavy rain...

Very soggy out there though milder than of late (currently 12c with light winds).

Could contain: Field, Nature, Outdoors, Pasture, Grassland, Grass, Landscape, Savanna, Land, Sky

Edit - don't ever recall copper beech taking so long to come into leaf, barely any movement as you can see.  If it warms up this week there should be an explosion in growth.

Could contain: Bud, Flower, Plant, Sprout, Tree, Vegetation

Shocking day, truly awful.. garden is like a swamp, roads are terrible with lots of standing water around.

Good news we finally got a firewood delivery.. not the usual hardwood, but kiln dried Larch is the next best thing and around half the price of hardwood so a win win..

Glad to hear it, I would usually have nipped down with some rather than see you stuck but away until next weekend.

Currently in a sweltering Marrakesh with a high forecast today of 39 degrees - very low humidity thankfully so actually quite tolerable if you keep out of the sun.

The contrast to the recent gloom and chill could not be more stark. Gone is the haar and single digit temperatures replaced with a westerly 😍 breeze and 17c. If only it would stay like this for the next 4 months 😁

You couldn't make it up after 4 days of fog thick drizzle and temps no higher than 9c we get a lovely warm morning now it's raining heavily in Aberdeen we might have reached the dizzy heights of 14c which felt tropical after all the crap we've had, still no sign of summer in the models 🙄
