The storm died before it even arrived, just a few spots of rain.

Oh well time for a brief roasting before the return of Atlantic westerlies.

Disappointing lack of storm activity here. We need the rain and despite all recent warnings I have only seen some heavy downpours last sunday.

You'll be sick of it by the end of next week.😝

Same, barely any rain here either. They just keep missing me. Yesterday it got dark, something heading my way on the radar and disappeared as soon as it hit my town!

Maybe Putin is trying to plunge the UK into drought after all😵 The only other rational explanation is witchcraft😀

I hear ya. Yesterday, I parked on a hill and watched a magnificent storm with half an hour of big, convective raindrops falling as far as the eye could see. But then I drove home, I stopped by my allotment only to find massive puddles at one end of the road...and halfway up the road it was almost completely bone dry...and my allotment had no rain at all! I couldn't believe it! I'd even ran from my allotment to my car 40 minutes earlier because I could hear approaching thunder! Typical.

A cloudy start, lots of stratus rolled in just before sunrise.

The cloud should thin and break up through the day, this helped by the fact that the source of the airmass will shift towards a more continental flavour as we go through the day.

29c, possibly 30c if somewhere gets lucky with sunshine amounts.

32/33c possible tomorrow.

Can't find that nature pic thread  so I'll put this here, think it's a caterpillar but not sure, it's huge though, in my garden this evening. Asked my son if he'd get me something to take a photo with quick, he decided to make this vid.

Does look like it, in that case shows how late the butterflies moths are this year in the se, it's not spring now. Think things are a month behind cause of how cold it was. Finally starting to see a few butterflies now. Also had lots of bumblebees in my back garden earlier enjoying the bramble flowers, along with rose chafers.

A lovely day and out at Nene park under a shady tree. Some places have already reached 30c by the looks of it. Some cloud is beginning to bubble up though.

Widely 30-32c yesterday away from windward coasts. Much cooler todays with temperatures closer to normal.

A few warmer days mixed in still, Wednesday in particular could turn out very warm still.

Even this morning when I walked from my house to the bus stop, about a mile, it was t shirt weather and I had a sweat on, now out doors is ok if your just sitting in it, but otherwise it's still muggy, in doors very muggy, open windows last night did nowt.

Nice day, just patchy cloud and good sunny spells. It looks like the temperature has maxed out at around 23c, so still a little above normal for the time of year.

The humidity isn’t that high today, dew points are in single figures with humidity around 40%. Just a pleasant feeling day.

Brits are being told to prepare for a heatwave next month - and it could last as long as two weeks.
