26c today and still fairly muggy...so where are these thunderstorms?

Dont tell me you believed them ? Northwest or mid  Kent ,south Essex (your patch ) east  ish London...if there's a 50 % chance  of storms then thats is us taking the slack ..storms here are forced ..proper forced ..otherwise they won't have it

Then as if by magic it  feels less  muggy and humid and because of the roundabout effect (coriolis ) the front has weakened to the point of a band of cloud and the storms well ..you know the story ..maybe those storms even elevated  are just a memory now  😞

Nope, and it still hasn't been through now either, it's the rain in the Midlands now.

Still feels warm and muggy, why is it so hard for cold fronts to reach this far south?!

I see the metoffice are trolling us now with another thunderstorm warning, 🙄 14th for me this year I think, and not one thunderstorm has occurred. I just ignore them now.

Spot on but it's the BBC usually in on the act!... and third time this summer they've mentioned thunderstorms to end heatwave on their news page...just doesn't happen and if it does usually very localised, just rain out there, why am I not at all surprised?

Had a brief shower earlier, it's gone quite dark here, I can barely see my keyboard so another shower on the way (I'm now counting "shower days rather than "thunder days" 😂)

Of course, this shower would have been accompanied by at least one rumble of thunder, but this is Norfolk....

I'll believe it when I see it in terms of the T storm warning.

It absolutely chucked it down here, i haven't seen rain like it for a while. I was a lovely, bedraggled wet mess for my dentist appointment.

Meto yellow alert for storms today. So a nice enough day then. @TN9 going to have wall to wall sunshine 😄

Well you wouldn't believe it but I've got a heavy shower at home of all places ...but again it , like last time came from the west never from the south it seems, but its big dollops but as much electricity in it  as a flat battery ,but rain none the less I'm chuffed ..:)

Ps it lasted 5 minutes and even though it looks mean on radar it just about kept the dust down 😞

Much fresher feeling today currently at 19c with dewpoint and humidity much lower than yesterday, full cloud cover all day too.

Just had some rain just bubble up over the past hour, just over my town South Woodham, then just die down again. Not moving anywhere, just popping up and disappearing in the one place.

Not a bad day today, still rather pleasant with a gentle north to north east wind and plenty of sunshine.

Nice to have a cooler day today. I always feel conflicted at this time of year because I love Summer and I'm not ready to let it go, but I love the coziness and colour of Autumn, but I know that invariably leads to Winter which I hate!
