All that rain gathering to the south over France and heading north, some thundery, and heavy showers ahead of it, were the Met Office sure they wanted to cancel the yellow rain warning for SE England 🤔

So that's the whole Region under a Yellow Warning for rain now. Also a 'strong wind' warning for the East Anglian coastal strip which is bad news for towns such as Hemsby which lost 2 to 3 metres of coastline to the sea last weekend and is likely to see a further amount of erosion in the next 24 hours.

I'll pop it in here in case anyone in here is interested, think a low is developing over the SE corner.

Few flashes at 10ish. Have now been awoken by thunder and torrential rain. Seems I will be staying up to enjoy this now. 😁

Some rumbles of thunder here/in nearby area a few minutes ago, tracking east to west, accompanied by very heavy rain. Now has died away.

Could have done with a Canoe for the commute in, that's horrible out there.

18.4mm at midnight, and a total of 31.6mm in the last 24 hours. A bit heavy, but not awful.

I bet the chicane/ traffic management system that reduces road width on the outskirts of Godmanchester is flooded. It appears to be a common issue during heavy rain.

Sun is appearing here, no wind and 14c, I wonder if showers will pop up later?

Relentless rain continues here in Mid Suffolk. The road under the railway bridge in Needham Market is underwater though a prone flood site near to Needham Lakes. reports of some homes flooded in the town, minor roads in the villages reported to be impassable due to flooding again in areas notorious for such when it pours.

Pleasantly warm in the sunshine in the back garden just now, helped by little wind. Feels far away from what's going on up north.

Flood warning just issued for the River Brett that runs through my town. Poor performance from the Environment Agency who only issued the warning just before lunch today. Luckily I warned my friend - who lives next to the river - about the risk yesterday and spent yesterday afternoon helping him fill sandbags and put up his flood barriers.

Wet but not overly so...16mm on Wednesday and 18mm overnight and today on the Essex Riviera...so a combined 34mm, had worse. Just such a change from the dry warm conditions of last week.

Very wet today and the river Nene is looking pretty high. Avoided the worse with people at work commenting of flooding up in Lincolnshire (Which we also cover).

What a day here in East Suffolk, I've been busy driving in my coach around evacuating Thomas Mills school in Framlingham and Stradbroke High.

This was Framlingham just an hour after we got clear and the river burst.

The Video is just outside Dennington not long after the buses were released from the school, my good friend Steve who was driving the Coach made it through, the car not so lucky.

76mm of rain in Charsfield up to 1500hrs, which is the closest village with a figure, so likely much the same around the area.

Hope you can see the uploads because I'm not good with such things!

Yes @Bolt From Blue, the flooding has been very bad in Suffolk today. The front made painfully slow progress moving north. These radar grabs illustrate the slow progress and persistence of the rain:

And a few pics of the resultant flooding:

And to emphasise the seriousness, a Major Incident declared for Suffolk:

Major incident as flooding hits East of England
A major incident is declared in Suffolk, with people advised to travel only if "absolutely essential"
